Discombobulation

Today I bring you completely unrelated and jumbled thoughts, because that is just what my mind is doing right now. Work is stressful, and April is going to be a crazy month due to closing on a house, packing, painting, unpacking, and a business trip on top of it all. Skipping ahead to May sounds nice to me…

Cute picture to distract you from my incoherent thoughts

Quick Thoughts

If you can’t figure out why sometimes you can’t cast Healing Rain or other ground-targeted abilities during a raid, check your Deadly Boss Mod settings. If you’ve positioned the bars in the middle of the screen, they might be preventing you from clicking. It took me several days to figure this out…oops. Go into the DBM menu and check a box that says something like ‘Disable mouse events’. I’m sure this a huge *omg noob* thing, but I never really used targeted abilities before Healing Rain came out.

Argaloth doesn’t drop Tier gear – it is a lie. I won’t believe you if you claim otherwise.

Prospecting 89 stacks of obsidium ore, converting the gems to jewelry, and then disenchanting it all will make your eyes bleed, and you will probably go a little bit insane. *

I finally got my first raid drop – a ring. *sigh*. For some reason things like rings just don’t excite me. There are so many options for jewelry, and you can’t even see it on your character. Want to trade ring for shiny dagger pls.

To comfort myself from lack of raid drops, I have been buying epics – two Darkmoon cards (one for each spec), and a Kilt of Trollish Dreams. I’m thrilled to finally be wearing a kilt again. It just feels so much more shaman-y.

Guild Challenges sound awesome. We were really pumped back when the Guild Achievements rewarded XP because it gave us goals to strive for and a way to feel like we were really contributing. Then Blizzard took it away because it was being abused. I hate when awesome things get taken away due to poor planning and player exploitation. But anyways, Blizzard actually understood why were sad they took it away and gave us something similar in return. Hooray!

I cannot wait until we can sort our characters on the login screen. OMG. It drives me nuts that my first slot is occupied by a level 50-something character.

After complete burnout on Archaeology, the lure of Tyrande’s Favorite Doll and the Ring of the Boy Emperor has brought me back. I was saddened to see that the addon Archy was utterly broken. Luckily some fans have compiled a fix over on Wowinterface.

New Personal Blog

I’ve finally given in to my urges to write about other topics, and have started a new personal blog. If for some reason you really like my writing and want to read my rambling about other topics like home design, cooking, and photography then feel free to check out ChampagneAndPixels.com.

Shades of Kae will continue as usual with its WOW, gaming, geek,  and fantasy related topics. I didn’t think all of my readers would appreciate an inundation of home decor posts. I also may actually show the personal blog to my family or other RL friends who wouldn’t appreciate anything posted here (or understand it).

*But it was 26g a stack. How could I pass that up, when one of the few AH strategies I know tells me the resulting gems are worth like 50g just cut and vendored?
