For a general overview of the Power Auras Addon and information on how to customize your auras check out my tutorial.
Everyone has their own style of using auras, so what I have may not work for you, but you can at least apply the techniques. I generally use images that capture the “feel” of the ability for me rather than strictly using the spell’s own images or numbers. Blizzard’s built-in auras are a great step in the right direction, and are helpful for beginners, but I prefer to control everything.
Here’s what I’ve got currently:
Earth Shield Tracker
I’ve setup a tracker for Earth Shield which tracks the buff and its stacks on any raid or party member that was cast by me. This is only used in spec 1 (my Resto spec).

Riptide Cooldown and Tidal Waves Buff
These are two separate auras, but its easier to show them together as they’re usually up at the same time.
The green aura around my character shows when the Tidal Waves buff is up. Tidal waves reduces the cast time of Healing Wave and Greater Healing wave by 30%, or the Crit chance of Healing Surge by 30%. It’s a very key part of healing as a shaman.
The green tracker on the right tracks the cooldown on Riptide.
This is only used in spec 1 (my Resto spec).

Unleash Elements Cooldown and Unleash Life Buff
These are two separate auras, but its easier to show them together.
The yellow aura around my character shows when the Unleash Life buff is up. Unleash Life is the buff granted by casting Unleash Elements, which uses the power of your current weapon buff to imbue your next spell cast. In the case of Unleash Life, it does a small HOT and increases your next direct heal by 20% (30% if you have Elemental Weapons talented). This is a vital ability for tank healing, especially due to the large health pools in Cata. I typically use it with Greater Healing Wave for a huge boost of health, or Lesser Healing Wave for a quick bomb. You can cast Riptide > Unleash Elements > Greater Healing wave for a a nice save when the tank is getting too low. Make sure to cast Riptide before Unleash Elements, because the Unleash Life buff will currently affect the direct heal portion of Riptide if you flip the order.

Earthliving or Flametongue Weapon Reminder
I use the same graphic to remind me if I’m in combat and missing the weapon buff for the appropriate spec (Earthliving for resto, and Flametongue for elemental). Obviously this could be applied to Enhance as well.

I use the same graphic to remind me if I’m in combat and missing the self-shield for the appropriate spec (Water for resto, and Lightning for elemental).

Lava Surge and Fulmination
I use the built in auras that come with TotemTimers for Lava Surge and Fulmination, but you could just as easily create Power Auras for them instead, using similar techniques to any other on this post.
Other Ideas
Other auras I plan on making but haven’t gotten around to yet are: a timer for Lava Burst, a buff aura for when Spirit Walker’s Grace is up, and possibly an aura for Healing Rain (sometimes those ground effects make it impossible to see).

Notes:
You will have to do some tweaking if you have your specs reversed in order, or only want to use one or the other. My resto spec is currently spec 1 and elemental is spec 2. I’ve set up the auras on two separate pages to make things more organized for myself. To change the spec an aura is for, go into the aura edit screen and choose the correct checkbox at the bottom (spec 1 or spec 2).
If you are having issues with the timers or stack counts showing up, ensure that the timer or stack texture is set to a font that you have. I use a font called ‘Accidental Presidency’, which I believe comes with the addon gMedia.

the Earth Shiel buff doesnt wort correctly, in party or raid. checkbox raid/party/self check buff for ALL party or raid members. ( CTRL + Click on earth shield to confirm ) Any ideas how to fix this ?
I just updated the export – it should be working correctly now. I noticed it yesterday shortly after the post went up but didn’t have time to get it updated. Power Auras can be quite finicky sometimes with the way the logic works. The key is to check the ‘Any’ box at the bottom for this – it will work now if Any party member has earth shield, not if ALL of them have it. I had previously only tested the buff on myself, which worked.
So, i play an elemental shammy and i have my flametougne buff animation and its finally working, but the purple stuff that shows up whenever i enter combat with flametougne on doesn’t work well with my other addons and auras, it actually just looks messy and annoying. i ave tried getting rid of it i have tried reloading, reinstalling the addon, deleting all my auras and recreating them, and I’m going insane. X_X
I have the aura only show up when Flametongue is NOT on so that it is only annoying when it’s supposed to get my attention. As for not being able to get it to go away, try deleting any Power Auras files in your WTF folder in your WOW installation. I’ve stopped using Power Auras because it started acting buggy on me with auras showing up seemingly randomly – I use Weak Auras now.

I do not know what I am doing wrong, but I cannot seem to get earthliving weapon to work. I have tried your string, I have tried other strings. I’ve tried reloading my ui — nothing! Either it doesn’t show up at all or it is constantly present and won’t go away. If you have any advice for a poor resto shaman, please do advise!
If you CTRL + Click on the aura in the Power Auras screen, you should see a message in your chat box about why the aura will or won’t activate – maybe that will help.
If you’re still having trouble, you could send me a screenshot of the configuration (shadesofkae [at] gmail [dot] com), and I can take a look and see if I can find anything that jumps out at me.
Just like Dakeea, I can’t make Earthliving Weapon to work either, idk why. The EXACTLY same problem. =/
I’m not sure what to tell you as the string definitely works for me. I do have issues sometimes with getting a new aura to show up but it usually works correctly after a reload. As I said below, CTRL-Left Click on the aura and see what it says, that is invaluable for me when figuring out why something isn’t working. You can also check the ‘Debug’ box on the edit screen to get some output as well when you are testing. And of course, the obvious, make sure you are in combat when doing your testing or most of my auras won’t show up. It is very possible that there are bugs with Power Auras though.
Power Auras Wikispace forums might be helpful as well.
Possible I know source of a problem. Earthliving veapon buff is checking only for one talents. Example restor is my second spec but buff is check only for first spec. Check this. Sorry for possible mistakes in text English is not my native language. I hope it’s help.

Hello There, I am not sure if you are still maintaining this page, I hope you are. Do you have a power aura that tells you when Healing Rain if off of CD. I tried to make one, but I do not know how to. It could be timer just as a frame of reference. Thank you for these auras as they will prove useful when healing.
Probably something like this:

It shows a timer while Healing Rain’s cooldown is up and disappears when it comes off cooldown.
Im not sure if you still check this page but I’m having issues with water shield. I want it to show the reminder when i have no stacks, but instead it shows it all the time, the second I get into combat.
